To download Barista, visit the Releases page. This page contains the latest versions of Barista. You can review the release notes to understand what’s new and what issues have been fixed.
On the Releases page, find the version labeled “Latest”. Click the link corresponding to your system to start downloading the file.
Once the file has downloaded, locate it in your Downloads folder. You will typically find it in a compressed format (like .zip). Right-click the file and select “Extract” or “Unarchive”. This will create a new folder containing the Barista application.
To make Barista easy to access, move the extracted Barista folder to your Applications folder. Open a new Finder window and drag the Barista folder into the Applications area.
Now that Barista is installed, open the Terminal application. You can find this by searching “Terminal” in Spotlight (press Command + Space and start typing).
In the terminal, you need to navigate to the Barista folder. Type the following command:
cd /Applications/Barista
Next, run Barista using the following command:
./barista
This will launch Barista, and you should see the statusline appear in your terminal.
